Our Founding Story

A Detective.
An Educator.
An Enduring Legacy.

Prabhu Lall spent his career as a narcotics detective with the Guyana Police Force doing two things with equal devotion: hunting down drug traffickers, and educating the communities around him. He believed that true public safety is built not only through enforcement, but through knowledge.

His life inspired a generation — including his family, colleagues, and the forensic scientists who followed in his footsteps. The Lall Legacy Foundation was founded by Det. Lall's granddaughter, forensic toxicologist Dr. Teeshavi Acosta, to ensure that his vision of a scientifically empowered Guyana becomes a reality.

We are a developing nonprofit currently pursuing 501(c)(3) status. Our work is already underway — with direct laboratory partnerships established and real needs identified on the ground.

"

Communities become safer not just through enforcement, but through knowledge — and the next generation deserves every opportunity to serve justice with integrity.

The Spirit of Prabhu Lall

Three Pillars of Impact

The Foundation advances forensic science in Guyana by strengthening laboratory infrastructure, training the next generation of scientists, and promoting evidence-based justice and drug awareness.

01

Forensic Laboratory Support

Assisting with laboratory modernization, analytical instrumentation access, method validation, and quality practice development — building infrastructure that serves justice for years to come.

02

Education & Professional Development

Mentorship for emerging forensic scientists, technical workshops, academic collaborations, and support for scholarships and internship programs that open doors for the next generation.

03

Drug Awareness & Community Outreach

Educational initiatives focused on substance prevention, community programs promoting science and public safety, and youth outreach inspired by Prabhu Lall's lifelong commitment to education.

Where Your Support Goes Right Now

We have already established a direct working relationship with a forensic toxicology laboratory in Guyana. We know exactly what is needed — and we are ready to deliver.

Priority Project · 2026

Analytical Method Validation & Drug Reference Database

The most urgent need identified by our laboratory partner is foundational: formally validating quantification methods for existing analytes and building a comprehensive drug reference database. This means ensuring that the scientific procedures used to identify and measure drugs in evidence samples are rigorously documented, tested, and certified to international standards.

Without validated methods, results are harder to defend in court and less reliable for public health reporting. With them, every piece of forensic evidence the laboratory produces becomes more credible — and more useful to the communities counting on it.

  • Certified analytical reference standards and reagents
  • Scientific documentation and method validation protocols
  • Drug reference database construction and management
  • Laboratory staff training and technical support
  • Foundation for future international accreditation
